We come as athletes.
We leave as family.
We are Lakeshore!
Are you ready for some football?
The Lakeshore Cheer Family kicked off its 4th annual picnic and camp out at Coach Carr's house. The event was extremely productive as all athletes came together with their stunt groups and worked its way through the progression lists. We also perfected the fight song down to its finest intricacies, which resulted in perfect marks at UCA camp in Bloomington. Not to mention, our superhero capes and costumes were finished here which made us look the part for the UCA camp rally.
The team learned the value of working together with the belly to balloon challenge which walked a line of cheerleaders through an obstacle course to the end of the yarn ball. They would all agree it showed them how to be out of the box thinkers when it comes to tackling your personal goals. There isn't just one way to attack a challenge. This was a perfect segway from our talk about personal and team goals at the bonfire.
It was not all work though. Big thanks to the parents for supplying food, Mr. Carr for driving the boat and pulling tubes, and Coach Hanson for being an integral part of the festivities. We had PLENTY of fun and it was AMAZING!

UCA Stunt Camp at Lakeshore High School
Success in stunting is part strength but even moreso about technique. The best way to gain
technique is by seeing and actually being taught perfect technique via progressions. Hosting the clinic at Lakeshore was a great opportunity to learn
new skills. There have never been more skills coming out of the Middle School team so quickly, let alone the number of stunt
groups going up in the air.
Overall, everyone improved their general stunting technique in terms of skills, transitions, and
cradles very quickly. This will benefit both the sideline and competitive programs!
UCA staff from this clinic were from Morehead State University, Indiana University, Western Michigan University, Grand Valley State University, Michigan State University, and University of Memphis.

Lakeshore Cheer attends camp at Indiana University!
UCA Camp was amazing! The girls learned new material, a lot of stunt technique, and performed in front of a crowd. The best part about camp was the bond both teams created while there. It was a genuine support for each other, which was the most significant gain!
All American is a difficult tryout. Those chosen are compared to the top 10% of cheerleaders in the country. Congrats to all cheerleaders for trying out and Ashley Defries for receiving this honor.
The teams received all blue superiors, the Spirit Stick every night, the Superior team award
UCA staff at this camp were from the following colleges: Indiana University, University of Hawaii, Penn State University and Mike flew in again from Germany.

One Dream! One Team! One Heartbeat! Together as One! United as One!
One of the goals for Varsity and Middle School is to develop a close bond, the most important element to a successful team. So much of cheerleading is about having faith, trust, and belief in your team.
